Clipper Ship ‘City of Adelaide’ Beneath The Southern Cross
AUTHOR EVENT/BOOK LAUNCH
Rita Bradd reads from her newly released book about her epic voyage on a heavy-lift vessel from Rotterdam to Adelaide, South Australia over the winter of 2013/14.
She accompanied the clipper ship 'City of Adelaide' aka 'Carrick' that was rescued from threatened demolition at the Scottish Maritime Museum at Irvine.
She writes of her passion for tall ships and how this led to her accompanying ‘City of Adelaide’ to record her final voyage in tandem with a diary kept by a young woman on the ship's maiden voyage in 1864.
Copies of the book will be available to purchase.

An Exchange of Words
SPOKEN WORD
After a well-earned rest, The Write Angle's perennially popular spoken word event, 'An Exchange of Words', is back! Always lots of fun, the golden rule is: no one performs their own words.
So start getting your swapsies organised, and let's see what new light you can shine on someone else's words. In previous years we've had poems turned into songs, songs turned into poems, stories delivered by multiple speakers... use your imagination, and let's see what happens on the day.
