Barbara Hammond

It is with great sadness that we have to advise all of our friends and supporters of the passing of Falkirk-based writer, and very good friend to The Write Angle, Barbara Hammond.
Barbara will be sorely missed, not only by her family, but by all that came to know her through her writing, The Writers' Umbrella, Falkirk Arts and Civic, Scottish Association of Writers, her support of The Write Angle, her joyous participation in spoken word events and her tireless volunteering with various community learning / adult literacies groups in the Falkirk and Stirling area.
Barbara was a staunch supporter of the arts, and everyone interested in all of its forms. Her passing leaves an enormous vacuum that will be extremely difficult to fill.
We, at this time, can only offer our heartfelt sympathy and condolences to all of her family and friends.

An event, celebrating the life and work of Barbara, has been arranged on the 31st January 2015.
We cordially invite all of her family and friends to share in an afternoon of story-telling, poetry and songs - just some of her many passions - and join us in paying tribute to the great lady herself.

Brilliant evening at Front Room Studio One (2) in Alloa, last night.  Lots of great stories and poems - all original works - beautifully delivered by a wide range of talent.  Can't wait for the next one!

Sunday, 20 July 2014

Another great Chords and Coffee today (Coffee On Wooer, Wooer Street, Falkirk: Sundays 2 - 4pm): not so busy today (probably due to the lovely weather) but no less enjoyable - a real case of quality rather than quantity today.  Well done to everyone that sang and played their hearts out!

Sunday, 6 July 2014

A quiet, but no less brilliant, Chords and Coffee this afternoon.  Some truly stunning vocals today and, the impromptu harmonies were a joy to behold - even someone from Write Angle ranch was seen to be singing along at one point!

Chords and Coffee happens every Sunday afternoon (2 - 4pm) in
Coffee On Wooer,
Wooer Street,
Falkirk.

You can't miss it; it's right behind the steeple.

Another great Chords & Coffee this afternoon: many thanks to all the musicians / singers sharing their passion so freely.
Lots of photographs were taken, throughout the session, by Eindp and Sweet P - I've no doubt some will end up in the next issue of The Write Angle (Sept 2014).
Meanwhile, enjoy this pic of Rory giving it laldy at the previous session...

Talking of Chords and Coffee, it's on again this afternoon (29/06/14), 2 - 4pm @ Coffee On Wooer, Wooer Street, Falkirk.
Copies of The Write Angle should be available there.
